At Photos by LJK, we love celebrating women who lead with authenticity, resilience, and self-trust. Today, we’re sitting down with Brittany McGeehan, a woman who is forever evolving, embracing messy joy, and redefining what it means to be strong. Let’s dive into her story!
Brittany: Brittany McGeehan.
Brittany: Honestly, my daughter inspires me the most right now. She is fiercely authentic, honest, curious about the world and people around her, and embodies freedom in the most shattering way.
She shows me what is possible when we connect to our most authentic self above all and reminds me to slow down.
Brittany: Mmmm love this question. To continue showing up messy. It’s okay when people don’t receive all of you in a loving way—that’s part of life. But this is also how you find yourself and your people.
Brittany: Qveen Herby – “BDE.”
Brittany: Anything outside, painting, exploring new coffee shops and small businesses with my kids or friends, experiencing the world through my kids’ eyes, hiking, and baking.
Brittany: Limitless.
Brittany: Because I’m forever evolving and reinventing my life. I also meet every challenge I experience and overcome it. It’s my favorite part of myself.
Brittany: With good food, family, and friends! We love a good celebration gathering over here. Or a massage haha.
Brittany: Strength means knowing when to ask for help and allowing yourself to show up messy. It’s not about having it all together, it’s about allowing your most authentic self to be seen.
I embody strength by having an amazing support community, knowing when to say yes and when to say no, apologizing when I need to but never when I don’t mean it, and being boundaried about my rest days.
Brittany: For us to not feel the pressure to carry it all on our own. To know when to set things down and for us to be conditioned to see ourselves the way our besties see us.
Brittany: Not repeating a pattern of self-sacrifice in my motherhood, but rather cultivating an experience deeply embedded in messy joy—which I think is the most beautiful form of resistance for women.
I love living it, passing it on to my children, and watching the people around me be impacted by it. As Glennon Doyle says, “Liberation is not a one-way street.”
Brittany: “Your Self-Trust is Your Superpower.”
