At Photos by LJK, we celebrate women who lead with strength, passion, and purpose. Today, we’re sitting down with Tonya Renee Durham, a woman who embodies resilience, dedication, and fierce leadership. From coaching to motherhood to academic success, she’s a powerhouse who pours into others. Let’s dive into her story!
Tonya: Tonya Renee Durham.
Tonya: My 12-year-old daughter, Kynsley. She is always the tallest in her class, and she takes on her height proudly, walking with her head up and her crown straight.
She is experiencing some controversy in soccer right now, but she takes it head-on and with grace. Kynsley represents every tall 12-year-old with dignity, kindness, and compassion. Her heart is pure, and she will help anyone in need. She truly is the best version of my family.
Tonya: Smile and laugh more. Your life is going to be full of change and new discoveries. Enjoy the small things and celebrate every accomplishment. You’ve earned it.
Tonya: “Ante Up” by Funkmaster Flex and M.O.P. It’s a great hype song that makes you feel like you can take on any problem and get s^t done.*
Tonya: My passion is coaching. I’ve had the amazing opportunity to see so many young men and women grow into becoming amazing athletes. Being able to celebrate their goals—whether it’s going to college or just making a middle school team—is so rewarding.
Tonya: FIERCE!
Tonya: My brother said my personality is fierce, and because of that, I can take on the world and nothing will stop me.
Tonya: I celebrate quietly. I allow my accomplishments to speak for themselves. I would rather celebrate YOUR accomplishments and always be present in the moment for others. I’m a work in progress when it comes to celebrating myself.
Tonya: Strength doesn’t always mean being the strong one. Strength is being able to show your weakness, to ask for help when needed, and to understand that we don’t always have to carry everything alone.
I’ve learned over the years that it’s okay to relax and take a break. Part of having strength is knowing when to pause and take time to smell the roses.
Tonya: To be taken seriously and for people to understand that women are truly the jack of all trades. We run the entire universe. No matter what task is placed in front of us, we will accomplish it.
Tonya: I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology in May 2022 and my Master’s in Human Resource Management in December 2024—all while raising two kids!
One plays collegiate baseball, and my second plays club soccer. I worked two jobs and coached an amazing volleyball team, leading them to two championships.
Tonya: DurhamDynasty is a way of life. We are here to inspire and take over the world!
