Celebrating 31 Women in March. March is here, and with it comes an empowering celebration of women who inspire, lead, and embody strength in every sense of the word. If you notice, everyone else focuses on “the what you do you do” of us. We decide to see the woman behind what she does. At Photos by LJK in West Hartford, we are thrilled to highlight these trailblazers in our “Celebrating 31 Women in March” movement—a tribute to women’s contributions, resilience, and individuality. Buckle up, because we’re about to dive into an inspiring journey of stories, triumphs, and unapologetic authenticity!
A Conversation with the Unapologetic Mary Ann Francis
At Photos by LJK, we celebrate women who embrace their power, stand in their truth, and inspire others along the way. Today, we’re sitting down with Mary Ann Francis, a creative entrepreneur who leads with authenticity, passion, and resilience. Let’s dive into her journey!
Mary Ann: Mary Ann Francis.
Mary Ann: I can’t pick just one because there’s a collective of women who inspire me at this moment in my life. Each one brings out a different part of who I am.
No matter what direction life takes me, these women make every step feel empowered.
Mary Ann: Don’t be afraid to trust yourself. Everything will align.
Mary Ann: A Spanish station would be my go-to. There’s nothing like reconnecting with my roots and letting the passion of each song take over. That feeling? It’s pure empowerment.
Mary Ann: Just being creative—whether it’s working on a craft project, planning an event, or anything that lets my creativity flow. That’s where I find joy.
Mary Ann: Unapologetic.
Mary Ann: Because nothing can stop me from living the life I desire. I live unapologetically, making decisions based on what feels good to me and what’s best for my family—without seeking approval.
Mary Ann: With a glass of champagne with my husband, reflecting on the moment and truly taking it in.
Mary Ann: Strength is being authentic and owning it. There’s nothing like being who you truly are—without worrying about what others think or trying to fit into someone else’s mold.
I embody strength by listening to my most vulnerable parts and understanding the core of who I am. When you know and accept yourself fully, no one can take that power away from you.
Mary Ann: I need more time to think about that one. There’s so much that needs change.
Mary Ann: Being an entrepreneur and owning my own business. It has pushed me to step into a confidence I didn’t even know I had.
Mary Ann: Unapologetically Me.
