At Photos by LJK, we love highlighting women who lead with heart, resilience, and purpose. Today, we’re chatting with Kimberly Flynn-Watson, a woman who embodies strength, faith, and selflessness while learning the beauty of balance. Let’s get into it!
Kimberly: Kimberly Flynn-Watson.
Kimberly: Without a doubt, my maternal grandmother. She was loved by so many and touched countless hearts with her kindness. Her faith in God was unwavering, and she cared for others in a way that was truly special.
I believe her faith, maternal instincts, and ability to nurture and love shaped me into the woman I am today.
Kimberly: Believe in yourself! Failure is not about making mistakes or experiencing setbacks; failure is giving up or not trying at all.
Kimberly: William McDowell on Pandora. His music is uplifting and keeps me grounded in faith.
Kimberly: Sports! I don’t play anymore, but when I did, it gave me so much joy and purpose. Now, I find happiness in watching sports and supporting others in anything sports-related.
Kimberly: Selfless.
Kimberly: Because I’m someone others can turn to and rely on. I pour into others and often put their needs above my own. Earlier in life, I saw this as purely positive, but now, I’m learning that it’s okay to be selfish sometimes—to recognize and meet my own needs. It’s a tricky but necessary balance.
Kimberly: With my loved ones. I may go out to eat or, if it’s a big win, treat myself to a trip. But no matter how I celebrate, I always include the people I love.
Kimberly: Strength is perseverance. Each season of my life has brought different obstacles, and I embody strength by recognizing challenges and finding ways to carry on.
Kimberly: Eliminating societal pressures and expectations placed on women.
No two women are the same, and that’s okay.
Women deserve the space to just be—without judgment.
Kimberly: This is tough because there are many things I could say—like obtaining my master’s degree or my independent clinical social work license.
But honestly, what I’m most proud of is being an involved, loving, and present mother to my two young children.
Motherhood doesn’t come naturally to everyone. For me, it takes intentionality, patience, courage, understanding, selflessness, selfishness, sleepless nights, steadfastness, and grace. Every single day, I show up striving to be the best version of myself for my children. And that? That’s something I’m really proud of.
Kimberly: You are enough!
